Congratulations to the winners of the Oregon Regional MATE ROV Competition! The winning team from the Ranger class will advance to the International MATE ROV Competition in Federal Way, WA at the end of June where they will compete with top teams from around the world.

Save the Date - April 28, 2018

The 2018 Oregon Regional MATE ROV Competition will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Lincoln City Community Center in Lincoln City, Oregon. This is the same place where the competition was held in 2017.

Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay, OR

Join us in Coos Bay to learn how to build remotely operated, underwater vehicles with your students. Find out how they can use their underwater robot to compete in a statewide robotics competition. You can use ROVs to teach science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and help prepare your students for technical careers.

2017 International Competition RESULTS

Congratulations to all the teams who competed at the 2017 International MATE ROV Competition in Long Beach on June 23-25, including the two teams from Oregon! 

Newport HS students qualify for international underwater robotics contest

NEWPORT, Ore. – Students from Newport High School have qualified for an international underwater robotics competition in California after placing first at a similar contest in Lincoln City that tested their engineering and problem-solving skills.

2017 MATE Competition Manuals released

November 18, 2016 — Competition manuals for all classes were posted today on both the international website and this regional site. Please note that, as usual, the Oregon Regional MATE ROV competition will include NAVIGATOR classes. The Regional competition date has been set for April 29, 2017, but the location is still to be determined. Stay tuned to find out when Registration will open!
